Virtual Servers and Web Site Hosting

Your web pages can be hosted on our virtual servers in two different ways. Either as:

Domain Name Virtual Hosts; or

Non-Domain Name Virtual Hosts.

1.) Domain Name Virtual Hosting:

With the first option you will have your own registered Domain Name which will appear to any web surfer something like this:

"www.yourname.com".

This is convenient and practical as your web address will be rather short and to the point. It does not include a portion of OUR name in YOUR internet address. It conveys to the public at large an independent and forceful image.
With our Domain Name servers we can also offer you direct FTP access to your web directory as well as Microsoft's FrontPage98 extensions. To be able to take advantage of these extensions you need to have Microsoft's FrontPage installed on your computer and/or the Personal Web Server.
With our FTP and FP98 servers you have uninterrupted and unlimited access to your server. You upload to and manage your site directly from you computer.

2.) Non-Domain Name Virtual Hosting:

With the Non-Domain Name virtual host, your web address could be something like this:

"www.abitmark.com/yourname/".

It is longer than the Domain Name as we have to add OUR name to YOUR web address for it to function. All you do is send us your WinZip compressed web pages as an attachment to any e-mail or FTP it directly to our site and we'll host it for you within a day or so.

Both hosting methods work the same way on our servers. Domain Name hosts, however, require special set-up procedures and re-programming on our part as well as occupy additional disk space on our servers. This is why Non-Domain hosts are more economical: they do not require any registration fees nor set-up fees, etc.

With our virtual Domain-Name hosts you'll have two (2) active Internet addresses, both of which access the same directory on the server. If we use the above addresses for an example, you'll have:

as your primary Internet address: "www.yourname.com", and

as your secondary address: "www.bitmark.com/yourname/"
